Hello Altair Team,

I have done a non-linear quasi static Simulation and the contact Forces (CONTF) are calculated. In a simplified model, i would like too apply this Forces on the exact same component Surface and do a topology optimization (static load case according to contact Forces as Loads on nodes or elements). I have tried to use APPLY RESULT in Post menu, but there is just Displacement as Data type available.

How can i apply another types of result as a load collector in my model (In this case contact Forces)?

Is that CONTF output in HM format?

Hi Tinh,

i guess so. i activated that just in control Card without any Settings. I guess the Default Setting (Emtpy Fields) means HM Format.

I checked it, there is 3 Options: -H3D -OPTI -OP2

which one should i choose for my purpose.

I should mention, that i use .res File, in order to load the results and then apply them in my model. Is it the correct file?

Could you try set it as 'H3D'

And select the h3d file to input to hm?

If hm cannot read h3d as result file, we may need a script to apply resulted forces

Hi,

CONTF is no supported as a part of .res file.

You can use the .opti format to get the forces and use the same.

i tried .opti Format. the Contact Forces are now saved in a .cntf file. How can i import this file in my model in hypermesh as a new load step?

As an alternativ, what do you think about, pressure or Element Forces as Output (HM Format) for applying in hypermesh model.

Hi @Farzin

Contact force from .cntf is for the contact region. So you may have to distribute evenly.

Not sure how the element force pressure works.

Another way is to use HyperView. Plot Contact forces in HyperView and use query panel to export the same on the nodes.

I have tried to Import the .csv file in hypermesh model, but it was not succesful. could you please tell me, how can i define the force values for the specific nodes. In .CSV there is the ID for the node and the value for Contact force.

I am new in this area and i am not sure, but i searched and found some Solutions with TCL script. is it the right way, in order to Import the force values for specific nodes (IDs)?

Hi @Farzin Have you tried Linear interpolation in Forces panel?

You can also try with Map force tool available in Aerospace profile.

Go to Aerospace>> Loads/BCs>> Map loads
