DOE on contact dimension

Hi,

 

I want to make a DOE of a contact distance(design variable) between two plates. The contact surfaces are represented by the interface of the blue and pink components (in the uploaded file). I want to create a parameter from the green fracture area to the beginning of the 2 blue areas. Finally, I want to observe the stress inside the plates according to this distance. 

 

What would be the best way to create this design variable ?

 

Is it possible to create a parameter on the geometry ? Is there a way to generate a new mesh with the appropriate contact ?

Since you have contact involved in the model you can carry out non linear static analysis using Optistruct. For DOE use Altair Hyperstudy.
