Problems during shape optimization

Hi everyone,

 

I tried some modification on the L-beam shape optimization in  'Exercise 5c – Cantilever L-beam Shape Optimization' (see attached data). Unfortunately, the optimization run into an error called:

 

*** WARNING # 7352
 The optimization process is terminated due to excessive mesh distortion.
 The optimized design will be remeshed to improve the element quality, and
 optimization process will be continued based on the remeshed model.

 

I activated remeshing in the menu opti control (as you can see in  the attached data), but the same error appears during the optimization.

I want to ask you whether there is possibility to improve the mesh quality during the optimization so that I can run this optimization.

    Hi Vaupel,

     

    If automatic re-meshing doesn't work, you could simply import the .grid file. Fix all the failed elements and restart optimization.
