I am facing a problem to model a shock mount in hyper mesh(ansys user profile),
inputs are:
1.three dimensional stiffness and damping values are available.
In which element element type you are facing problem & also let us know the version of Hypermesh you are using?
Note: Refer Ansys user guide or help to use appropriate element type.
thank u for ur immediate reply,
element type is combin14
in that k stiffness and damping value in one direction only
but i have to apply three directional stiffness
i applied in three directions (100),(010)&(001)
respective direction,i applied stiffness and damping value.
but iam getting more stress value compared to rigid mount(with out damper).
To my knowledge you need to create three spring element between two nodes & in property card first time define stiffness value for x then for y & then for z.
It seems to be cumbersome process.
In HM Optistruct you could use Cbush element & define stiffness in one property card.
thanku
In ansys profile while converting cbush in to ansys, iam getting 21(6).
can tell me the details of 21(6)?
what is the element type?
Hi @sudagani
CBUSH from OptiStruct should convert to CONBIN14 by default which is a Ansys spring element type. I am able to convert a CBUSH element without any issues.
Can you check the material and property cards assigned to those elements?
