Deformable Barrier Material Properties

Hi,

Is there a Radioss deformable barrier model for offset/side impact available to download like the one shown in this video (1:49:47) -

If not, where could I find the properties for this aluminum honeycomb material?

Hi Arjun,

You can model a deformable barrier. I would suggest you check with suppliers for Aluminium honeycomb material properties.

Hi Prakash,

I have modeled the barrier, but for the Honeycomb (MAT28) material I have to input a total of 6 tensile and shear stress functions which I do not have access to.

I'm assuming these crash barriers are made from a standard (or at least similar) material. Is it possible to share the properties used in your training seminar I linked earlier?

I suggest google searching for relevant research papers and thesis.

You can find simplified material properties on page 29.
