Dear all

I made a NLGEOM analysis, and want to know the total strain energy. How can I get the plot of time vs total energy.

If you are looking at the total strain energy in the model, OS punches out this information as ‘Compliance’ in the .out file

    Hi,

Maybe you should request for plastic strain energy from global output request.

    Or

.rad files will be written in your working directory. Add an output for strain energy. :)/emoticons/default_smile.png' srcset='/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x' title=':)' width='20'>

Great thanks for your answering. I checked the .out file and found this 'CYCLE    TIME      TIME-STEP  ELEMENT          ERROR  I-ENERGY    K-ENERGY T  K-ENERGY R  EXT-WORK MAS.ERR'.

Does the I-ENERGY mean stain energy? and what's the other ENERGY mean?

Do I have to plot time vs energy in excel or other sofeware?

Thanks for your answering. sorry to forget telling you that I used Opstruct as solver. And I could not find plastic strain energy from global output request.
