In a dropping simulation, I came across a warning message. It told me the default solid formulation was been used.  How can I check the default formulation or modify the default formulation?

WARNING ID :          758
** WARNING IN FORMULATION FLAG (SOLID)
DESCRIPTION :
   -- PROPERTY ID : 10
   -- PROPERTY TITLE : solid_JiaoLian
   SOLID FORMULATION 17
IS ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH 8-NODE HEXAHEDRA,
   SOLID FORMULATION HAS BEEN CHANGED TO DEFAULT;

Best Wishes

Roy

    Hi Roy,

Isolid-17 formulation 17: H8C Standard 8-nodes compatible solid full integration formulation and is only compatible with 8 noded hexa elements.

The Isolid flag is not used with 4-node and 10-node tetrahedron elements. For these elements the number of integration points is fixed (1 and 4, respectively).

    Hi Roy,

So how to solve my problem? What's the default solid formulation and how to modify it?

    Hi Roy,

Do you have tetra elements in the model?

    Hi Roy,

Do you have tetra elements in the model?

Yes . There are both tetra and hexa elements in one component.

    Hi Roy,

The Isolid flag is not applicable for tetrahedron elements.  For four nodes tetras Itetra formulation flag can be used.

    Hi Roy,

To remove this warning, please put the tetra elements in one component and the hex elements in another component.  Create a property for the tetra elements and leave Isolid input field blank.  We are going to improve this message in the next version as it is confusing to users.

    Thanks,

    Andy
