Strain as a respone in free-size optimization

Hi,

 

I am working on free size optimization for composites in HM 14.0. When I use strain as a response and constrain it with a lower bound value, I am getting below error. Can anyone answer why I am getting it.

 

 ERROR # 1800 ***
 Stress/strain/force responses are applied to property 602686 which
 belongs to a topology or free-size domain. For stress-constrained
 topology or free-size optimization, please use the STRESS option
 on the design variable definition card.

Hi Sumanth,

 

Strain response is currently not supported.

 

As an alternative you can try defining STRESS as a constraint in topology optimization using the below option (Analysis > Optimization > Topology > Parameters > Stress constraint -DTPL card)
