Hello,

I am trying to perform optimization topology on this beam, with PSHELL - MAT8 material properties. There is the following error:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>image.thumb.png.799d4a7fc1a78e82998904d477b52497.png

-Is it only possible with PSOLID? (I've experienced more errors earlier)

-how can I perform this analyses with anisotropic/orthotropic material?

Hope you can help me.

best regards,

Joep

    Hi Joep,

    Looks like you have 3D elements which require PSOLID property. PSHELL is only for shell elements.

    You can use MAT9 or MAT9ORT orthotropic material cards, which are compatible with solid elements.

    Hello,

    Thanks for the reply again.

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>image.thumb.png.3b32fae703b9a9f92aadc8f9787897e1.png

    I have now tried the material with card image MAT9ORT

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>image.thumb.png.2ae7b37b4286f8b8989a5b88fc5cd682.png

    And I received the errors above.

    I think I should change the property card images as well?

    These are now PSOLID

    Best regards,

    Joep

    Hi Joep,

    Is it possible to share the model file?

    Hi @Joep

    Though there are two components, elements are organized in only one component (non-design) and design property is used for topology optimization.

    So design property has no elements. Please check this and update.
