Hello guys, I have a problem with my model, let me explain.

I imported the geometry (CATproduct), and by using the command surfs >move (Shift+F11) I divided the geometry in three components “layup, rinforzo, ossatura”.

I did a mesh with trias elements (I checked elements normal), I constrained the structure and then I defined a composite material (MAT8).

I created a system collector and then I associated it to the material orientation.

I created three different plies, associating the first ply to the three components, the second ply to the three components, the third ply just at “rinforzo” and “ossatura”.

I created a laminate with the 3 stacked plies and I defined 3 different properties of PCOMP type.

The first expects two plies to whom I associated the created material, thickness and orientation of the first and the second plies previously created, then I assigned it (assign>elements>by collector>layup).

The second expects three plies to whom I associated the created material, thickness and orientation of the three plies previously created(assign>elements>by collector>rinforzo).

The third expects three plies to whom I associated the created material, and thickness and orientation of the three plies previously created(assign>elements>by collector>ossatura).

Moreover, because in the box property of the three components appeared “property (unspecified)”, I associated to the three components the three different proprieties.

I uploaded the structure, then I started the simulation and soon it appears the following message:

*** ERROR # 622 ***

PLY 1 does not contain any valid plate elements referencing a

 PCOMPP card.

I can’t understand which kind of error I did, could you help me?

Thanks in advance!

    Hi Mil,

Change from PCOMP to PCOMPP. For ply based modelling, you need PCOMPP and not PCOMP.
