Hi, to all.
I'm a newbie on optistruct software. I have made two models, with same geometry, the same elements, same material, and same boundary conditions, using hypermesh software.
In one model i have two different components called 1 and 2. In the second model i have only one component.
The results of von Mises stress are different. In particular  for the model with 2 components there are discontinuity for the von Mises stress.
Why the disontinuity ?
I attach the mages of the models anche .hm files.

    Hi Saverio,

I think it depends on how the 'Simple Average' (or any other)) algorithm works.
By default, the averaging of results stops at component boundaries.

Without averaging, there is always a gradient from element to element (e.g. switch off averaging).

Try to set the switch at Contour->Average Options->Average across component boundary (Button below Averaging method).

If the structure is not connected by nodes (e.g. by contact only) it isn't possible.

    Best Regards,

    Mario
