SAE Baja Roll Cage Analysis

Hey everyone, I am a newbie in HYperMesh, so please bear with mine mistakes. I modelled mine roll cage in SolidWorks using Weldments and imported the CAD geometry as step file in Hypermesh. I extracted the midsurface of solids and meshed it using 2d elements. But the problems comes in the region where joints/welds will be there. Also, some surfaces remains unmeshed. The quality check for meshed elements are also not satisfactory. 

So, please help me out in rectifying this problem. I have attached the step file.

can you provide some pictures of your model and problematic areas?

 

In these cases try trimming the surfaces into smaller portions and try meshing them.
