Composite optimization

I'm trying to do an optimization whose objective is minimizing mass, using the 'composite failure' as constraint

When the optimization starts, this message is displayed:

 

NO DESIGN MATERIAL OR DESIGN VARIABLES FOUND  : ANALYSIS ONLY

 

And this is strange, since I have indeed created a design variable before (in particular I created a 'composite size desvar', which allowed me to use the 'composite failure' as constraint).

 

So it's like if the solver couldn't see my design variable...

 

Can anyone help me please?

Minimizing mass may not be an effective model set up when you are doing composite sizing, the mass of your model may not be sensitive to your sizing changes, hence optistruct may not activate optimization. 

 

Choose a different objective and try,
