Can SimLab show solver progress and/or the estimated finish time?

I am new to SimLab.
When I run a simple parasitic extraction from a small piece of PCB, the solver runs for a long time.

At first, it was due to an error in my assembly. The solver ran for hours and occupied all the RAM I allocated. I kept increasing the RAM from 8GB up to 62GB. But the result won't come out.

I kept killing the solution and make changes to my assembly.

Eventually, I got the assembly correct and the result correct. But even with the correct assembly, it still takes more than 1/2 hour to get the result.

During that long time, I just waited there.

Has no one had similar experience? Or there is a way to know the estimated solve time or a way get an error message?

Sincerely,

Rhonda

    Hello Rhonda,

As far as I know, we dont not have a way to measure the estimated solving time.

We have an option to view the solver log file. We can see at what stage the solver is running. I hope this will be available for parasitic extraction analysis too.

Regarding solving for long time, I will check and get back. Is it possible to share the model you have used?
