Rigid body momentum distribution

Hello,

I'am setting up a hypermesh model and I ran into two problems I could not resovle in an appropriate manner. I have a momentum at some point on an engine and 6 mounts, which are constrained on the ground.

How can I model that engine without a CAD model? We can assume the engine to be completely stiff. The attachment points of the engine should not be independent from each other. I tried to model this with rbe3 elements as you can see in the picture below, but this results in diplacement of the attachment points independent from each other.

I would be very thankful for any ideas on how to model this rigid body.

Kind regards,

alex

    Hi Alex,

    How are you modelling engine?

    Is it using concentrated mass?

I am assuming that the mounting point should be together (for not to be independent) in such case maybe you can connect them using RBE2 elements?

    Hello Prakash,

thank you for your reply. I followed your suggestion and added rbe2 elements. The problem was, that one node cannot have more than 1 rigid attached to it.

    Regards,

    Alex
