What is the difference between mass, volume, volume frac,mass frac

    Volumefrac response is the material fraction of the designable material volume. The volume response is the total volume, which includes design and non-design volume.

    For that assume an Example,

    during optimization we may have some location where another part going to be assembled, so that region or location we don't want to change the design. Such known as non design space. Like locations where bolt going to be insert..or location where u want to define any weld or joint. Apart from non-design space all is design space where we allow software to make changes.

    a)If necessary partition the design and non design space

    •Separate design elements from non-design elements by creating new components (for topology, free-size and topography optimization)

    Apart from non-design space all is design space where we allow software to make changes.

    Perhaps there is a misunderstanding: only properties explicitly defined in optimization panel are included in the design domain. All other properties are in the non-design domain by default.
