Hi Experts,

I want to check the stability of my model before employing AMS. Hence I am using /RANDOM card in the input to verify the stability. What is the optimal range of XALEA (Nodal random noise) factor that is applicable on the model. Pl suggest me an optimal range. Also please let me know if there are any other methods or cards available in RADIOSS to verify the stability of the model.

Thanks in advance,.....

    Hi Raghav,

Normally an amplitude of Xalea=1e-06mm is used and do several runs with different values of seed=0.0, 0.1... 0.9

When seed=0, it corresponds to original model without perturbation..

I'll try to get you some documents on the same topic.

    Hi George,

Thank you for the response. It would be of great help if you could share some documents on this issue. And coming to /RANDOM by changing the Xalea value penetrations are incurred in the interface (for obvious reason as the nodes are disturbed). So the new coordinated are calculated based on the old coordinates or the new ones obtained after depenetrating the nodes ?

    Hi Raghav,

The modified coordinate = original one + Xalea * random number defined by RADIOSS

I'm attaching a Robustness study done in RADIOSS using /RANDOM card. Hope this may be helpful for you.

Thank you.. Pl do share if you have more info on the noise range values other than 1e-06mm..
