Effect of Damping ratio

Hello Everybody,

How does it affect the results when we do not specify the damping ratio? How may I know what is the default value of damping ratio my solver is taking? 

Does it affect the maximum stress induced in the body? Please put some light on it.

Hi,

Introducing damping reduces the dynamic effects in a model. There are various methods to introduce damping in a model.

I recommend you to go through  Dummy Positioning example in the Help Menu which deals with a model with and without damping effects.
