Interpenetration of TYPE3 contact in 2D Axisymmetric analysis

Hello guys,

I have an issue with a plate impact simulation.

I am working with a 2D Axisymmetric model, on Hyperworks 2017.2 Student Edition.

My issue is that my two plates interpenetrates each other.

I guess it is an issue with the interface definition. I implemented a /INTER/TYPE3 Symmetric Interface, and defined both my ContactSurfs as SURF/SEG type .

I have  heard about an issue concerning the ContactSurf with SURF/SEG type in 2D Analysis, that have to be defined as LINE/SEG type, and then changed manually in the 000.rad.

Is this still true with the 2017.2 version ?

With the Hyperworks 2017.2 Student Edition, i don't see how i can perform this operation, as we don't have access to RADIOSS Standalone, and it is impossible to launch RADIOSS starter without erasing the 000.rad.

Could you please help me ?

I enclose the hm. model to this message.

Rog

    Hi

The recommended interface for axisymmetric/plain strain problem is type5
