Use surfaces from another component while defining loads

I have the top and bottom surfaces of a cylinder defined in one component and the shrink wrap mesh of the whole cylinder in the other component. I need those surfaces to apply loads and boundary conditions to select the elements on which the loads are to be applied. If I try to select these elements by plane, not all of those elemets on that surface get selected. How can I use those surfaces to select the elements inside their boundaries?

If top and bottom of the cylinder are flat (or smooth) you can select elems> 'by face'

If it does not select all top and bottom elems, try enter menu Preferences>Meshing Options and increase 'feature angle'
