I am practice the example like this connect

but I don't know why I set the coordinate and assign the force

assigned beam's displacement is  lager than doesn't assigned beam

    Hi,

With Follower force, load follows the geometry as it deflects for this you need a coordinate system.

    Really thanks to your reply

but I still don't konw why we need to set coordinate to it

and when we don't set coordinate means the analysis is wrong?

    thanks a lot

    Hi,

Try this without coordinate system using FLLWER and FORCE1

    Really thanks to your reply

@Prakash Pagadala thanks to your apply

and I use your model to set coordinate for case 1 and doesn't set for case 2

at displacement result are the same. What are they mean

    Hi,

You dont need a system with the model I shared.

The model I shared uses FLLWER card to tell the solver that the load applied (FORCE1) is a follower load.
