Hello,

I need to run Optistruct simulations for MIL-STD-810H Method 514.8 Annex C Vibration, and MIL-STD-810H Method 516.8 Procedure 1 Shock for a shelving system built inside a ground vehicle.  Can you please provide guidance on how to set up the loading for both of these simulations??

Thank you,

Michelle Gasbarro

usually these can be represented 2 ways:

    - running an equivalent static amplified loadcase, from a shock response spectrum (SRS), according to the modal contents of the model and pulse signal (i.e. acceleration factor of 1.8x)

    - or running a transient analysis, where you explicitly define the shock curve and perform the analysis. (i.e: half-sine, 6ms duration)

For transient analysis there is a tutorial in the OptiStruct documentation that you could follow.

Before going to your full model, I'd suggest trying in a simple model, ok?

    Hello,

I started using Simlab software a few weeks ago.

I have a similar problem; I need to study the structural behaviour under a sawtooth shaped pulse in 11ms and intensity 20g.
I've read the tutorial "OS-T: 1315 Modal Transient Dynamic Analysis of a Bracket", but with Simlab I'm having some problems setting up my simulation.
Which solution type should I choose?
How can I set the sawtooth shaped pulse?

    Could someone help me?
    Thank you a lot
