Symmetry applied to non design space

Hello,

I have a part where I wish to connect two supports to. It is made of up 5 parts, 2 design spaces, 1 main element where the loads are applied and 2 non-design spaces which are grounded. As there is asymmetrical loading the optimisation creates two different designs, is there a way of making them symmetrical even though they are 2 separate design spaces?

Thank you in advance,

Matthew

    Hi matthew,

What type of optimization are you doing?

Since the loading is not symmertic it may not be possible to get the same design.

But you can try Pattern repetition if you are doing a topology optimization.
