Topology optimization sensitivity

I would like to perform topology optimization with one dimension minimization as an objective (e.g dimension in x direction). I wonder if there is any possibility to do this in Optistruct? Maybe there is some way to directly deliver topological sensitivity of the objective to solver.

    Hi @curky

Could you please let us know more about the model and analysis?

    Is it 3D or 2D?

What are the constraints and objective, etc...

At this moment this is only a concept so I don't have a specific model.

For a purpose let's consider a 2D rectangular design space. it is supported on the two lower corners, and loaded over entire lower edge (like a bridge). I would like to minimize the height of this bridge under stress constraint. At this moment there is no possibility to set the height of current iteration as a response thus it can't be used as a n objective.

I can estimate corresponding sensitivity by myself, by I don't know if it is possible to tell Optistruct to use it.

How about using Shape optimization to change the height (changing the shape)?
