Model deformed

Hi everybody,

I try to simulate the contact between two mating gear by applying a force on a tooth and locking the center of the gear.

Using Optistruct to solve the equation the solution is (as showed in the attached) a deformed gear, deformed 2 teeth after the one with the load applied; I impose the value of 10 at the force and set the steel properties to the gear (as you can see from the Hypermesh file atached).

Someone can halp me understand why it gives me such a result?

Thanks in advance

    Hi r_ferriani,

in the model you have shared there are only components, materials and properties.

I have arbitrarily created the boundary conditions and loads in the file attached bellow. Is tis the result you are looking for?

Also, the model will not run as is due to bad tetra mesh quality. You can disable element check with Analysis>control cards>PARAM>CHECKEL>NO, but this could lead to inaccurate results, so I suggest remeshing with hexahedral elements.
