Hello everyone,
I am trying to perform a fatigue analysis of a brake pedal in HyperLife using a load cycle. I need to apply the load steps sequentially, following the actual loading sequence shown in the attached image.
The stress results from my nonlinear static analysis exceed the material's yield strength. Therefore, I am using an EN-type (and Uni axial) fatigue approach.
I previously attempted to set up the sequential loading using the Block Loading method in HyperLife. However, when I changed the sequence of the load steps and ran another fatigue analysis to verify the results, I obtained exactly the same results in both cases. This makes me unsure whether the load sequence is being correctly considered in the analysis.
My questions are:
- How should I configure HyperLife to perform a fatigue analysis using the actual sequential load history shown in the attached image?
- Is Block Loading the correct approach for this type of analysis, or should I use another method to ensure that the load steps are processed sequentially?
- Since my nonlinear static stress results exceed the material's yield strength, are there any specific settings or considerations I should take into account when using the EN-type fatigue method?
- When I define the load cycle using Block Loading, the load magnitude graph starts at 0.5 instead of 0.0. I would like the load history to start from zero and then increase according to the defined load sequence. How can I change the initial load magnitude from 0.5 to 0.0?
I would appreciate any guidance on the correct setup, particularly regarding sequential load mapping, Block Loading, and the EN-type fatigue approach.
Thank you in advance for your help.
