I am currently planning to conduct a drop weight impact test for simulation correlation. I intend to use the experimentally measured force-time curve as the simulation input, apply the Equivalent Static Load Method (ESLM) within OptiStruct to perform the simulation analysis, and then correlate the simulation results with the experimental data to validate the correctness of the ESLM-based model. I would like to know whether the Equivalent Static Load Method can be used independently for simulation analysis without being coupled with optimization.
