Altair Inspire Studio: Why does my app keep crashing?

Question

For context, I use the Altair Inspire Studio 2025 R1 version to open my Altair EDEM 2022. 3-version rotary drum calciner slice simulations. At first, they would open fine, and I could work with them. Another issue I have faced is that the tutorial available on the YouTube channel isn't updated for the newest version of the app, and I have found it really difficult to navigate the rendering options based on that. So I thought it would be a better idea to download Inspire Studio for the 2022 version as in the YouTube video. But Inspire Studio with older versions than 2025 isn't available. Can anybody advise me on what to do about this?

Hello Omkaara,

What you can do to work with an interface matching the tutorial and likely to work better with EDEM 2022.3 results is download and install Simcenter Inspire Render 2023 from the Altair marketplace (it is pretty much the rendering component from Inspire Studio and leaves out the modelling part):

Regarding the tutorial being updated I have added it to the list of things to be done so hopefully I'll publish an update in the near future.

What I meant to say is that I have already been using the Altair EDEM 2022.3 version to run my simulations for a long time now. I was suggested to find a way to make videos look more natural and came across the Altair Inspire Studio 2025 version. When I first downloaded the Inspire Studio, it was really easy to navigate my way around opening the simulations because both software programs were under the same domain, Altair. But at some point, I started noticing that the Inspire Studio started crashing out. Then, I tried to check if the Inspire Studio would be available in an earlier version to match the EDEM 2022 version, but there were no previous versions available in the marketplace.

So, my two concerns remain. First and most importantly, one thing that would be helpful is if I could find the Inspire Studio 2022/2023 version, as in the tutorial on the YouTube channel from Altair. If I can access it somehow, that would be great. And, two, if the same tutorial can be modified to Inspire Studio 2025 version because I couldn't find a lot of options that may have been otherwise updated from the software version in the tutorial. Maybe that would help me understand why my Inspire Studio 2025 version keeps crashing.
