Visualize applied pressure with HyperView

Question

Pressure is applied on SHELL elements using PLOAD entry.

After computing the analysis, I would like to visualize the applied pressure on the model with HyperView.

I tried the following outputs :

/ANIM/SHELL/PEXT

/ANIM/SHELL/P

/ANIM/ELEM/P

/H3D/SHELL/PEXT

None of them seems to be working.

The analysis is performed using Radioss 2025.1.

Hi,

There are 2 things

* There is no /H3D/DT in your engine file so you are not generating native h3d file; the one you get is coming from the conversion of the animation files and as /ANIM outputs, there is no PEXT at element level
* The output of nodal pressure is indeed null, which is not expected and would need to be clarified.

You should:

* Remove all your /ANIM keywords (to avoid confusion)
* Add /H3D/DT to define the time frequency output of frames as native h3d (/H3D/DT has same format as /ANIM/DT)

Then you will have 2 outputs due to /H3D/SHELL/PEXT corresponding to external pressure on the skin of the shells:

* Scalar one: Pressure OUTER
* Vector one: Pressure vector

Thanks for your help.

I switched to Radioss 2026.0 with HyperView 2026.

I tried :

* /H3D/SHELL/PEXT
* /H3D/NODA/PEXT
* /ANIM/NODA/PEXT
* /ANIM/VECT/FEXT

HyperView provides the following output :

* "External forces" that seems to be working as expected (but not exactly what I'm looking for) 
* "Nodal external pressure" with zero magnitude

I'm still not able to visualize the pressure applied on shell elements. I may be doing something wrong, please find attached a test case on a simplified model.

Hi Edouard,

* /ANIM/SHELL/P & /H3D/SHELL/P are for internal pressure
* /ANIM/SHELL/PEXT does not exist
* /H3D/SHELL/PEXT is indeed the correct one to be used; yet, there are known issues with it.

Workaround is to use /H3D/NODA/PEXT (or /ANIM/NODA/PEXT) with v2026.0 (or higher)
