Keeps getting the "Invalid Security Identification" error on S-Concrete

Hi there,

I kept getting this error while opening the Altair S-Concrete 2025 and 2026. I can use the Altair S-foundation and S-frame without issue. IT department confirms that I have the valid full license, and we had enough license units for concurrent users when I opened the app. Action taken:

1. I have tried reinstalling the app and restarted the computer, issue persists.
2. Tried the issue on different WIFI hotspot (No firewall configures). Issue persists.

Any suggestion or comment will be much appreciated!

Please try uninstalling S-CONCRETE.

Please then browse to %localappdata%/s-frame software You will see a file labeled Sconcrete.ini. Please delete this file.

Please then try reinstalling S-FRAME using the link below (as adminstrator):

AltairS-CONCRETEandS-LINE2026_win64.exe

If this doesn't work, please create a support request via the Support Center so that we can investigate further.

Thank you for reaching out to us. I'm sorry about the issues you are encountering. This might be related to an issue during the installation process. I'd like to ask if you performed a full, clean S-CONCRETE reinstall. By this I mean using the .exe installation file, and running it as an admin, as this ensures all the components are correctly placed. It is also important to mention that this clean reinstall includes deleting all current S-CONCRETE-software-related files, as any leftover can still trigger the error message.

If you haven't already attempted this, could you please give it a try, and let us know?

If you are still having troubles please locate the SCONCRETE.ini file at the path below, and open it in a text editor, you should notice a field titled ‘Type’. If this type field does not have a value set to ‘Type = 1’, this is usually indicative of an installation not completing successfully.

Thank you very much for the prompt response!

We have tried do a clean reinstallation with the admin access. Regarding to the SCONCRETE .ini file, value set is "Type=0". Any other troubleshooting that we can try?

Hi there, please change the type field to 'Type = 1', and save the file (with the INI file extension) and replace the original file. Then please try relaunching.

Hi Matthew,

Just changed the Type value to Type=1. The "Invalid Security Identity" error disappears but it seems the S-concrete keeps trying to load something and does not actually work (Can't create or open any file). Also, the "Error-2147221164: Class not registered" pops up while opening the S-Concrete no matter the "Type =0" or "Type =1"
