Student License "Error activating license:This lic. was already activated using different HostIDs"

Question

I startet evaluating Feko yesterday, especially its LUA scripting capabilities. After some hours of scripting, I run into license problems. As it seemed I had some zombie Feko processes running, I tried killing all Feko processes without success. Rebooting did not help as well. Consequently, I checked the license storage directory which was empty (!). Hence, I tried to reactivate my license with the activtation key. Here I get "Error activating license: This license was already activated using different HostIDs". Deactivation is not possible as there is no license file present any longer.

I took screenshots of the license manager and I have seen a strange behaviour: My WIN_INSTALL_ID changes. It got the impression that it depends on how I access my PC - directly or via remote desktop from, but its not fully reproducable. Also, yesterday evening (remote) I have seen the 18… ID, this morning (local) the 27…, and now (after some time and remote accesses) again the 18… ID.

How can I proceed?

Hi,

Your previous license key activation is now deactivated in Altair one, you can now reactivate the student license with the same license key.

Deactivation and reactivation feature is only if a computer breaks down or reformatted and is only allowed a few times per user preprogrammed into the system.

You can deactivate the license from one machine and reactivate in another by yourself if you have access to both machines as per –
