Can someone provide information on OpenRADIOSS, I use HPC to solve RADIOSS models with multiple nodes/cores. Is OpenRADIOSS compatible with HPC's?
Hi,
If you are looking information regarding OpenRadioss, I would suggest you to look at OpenRadioss website https://openradioss.org/ and submit your questions on the OpenRadioss forum (https://github.com/orgs/OpenRadioss/discussions)
And to answer your questions, OpenRadioss can be used on multiple cores with OpneMPI, like Simcenter Radioss.
Finally, please keep in mind that OpenRadioss is not to be used for commercial usage.
Regards
OpenRadioss can be used for commercial purposes. The project’s license file explicitly lists “commercial use” as permitted, and OpenRadioss is distributed as open-source software under the GNU AGPL license.github
A practical caveat is that while you can use it commercially, the AGPL has obligations if you modify and distribute the software or provide it as a network service, so your legal/compliance team should review the license terms for your specific use case. OpenRadioss itself also describes the software as free, publicly available FEA software intended for industrial and research use
From legal's point of view, your comment is correct and my comment may seem too restrictive.
Yet, there is no advanced validation (users have to do it on his own for all new versions he is using) for OpenRadioss. And there is no professional support but only the Github community forum. Finally, there are features that only available with the commercial versions and that may be important for some commercial usages (such as encryption).
This why, we usually recommend to use OpenRadioss for research and collaboration purposes and Simcenter Radioss for commercial usage.
