I am writing to urgently request technical support regarding a license error that suddenly started occurring on my personal computer.
I am currently using an Altair Student License. I want to emphasize that everything was working perfectly fine until recently, and this issue suddenly happened out of nowhere without any changes to my system. Now, the program will not launch at all, and it completely blocks me from even entering my activation key.
When I manually run almutil-gui.exe (Altair License Utility) to re-enter or check the key, the "Activate" button is completely grayed out, displaying the following error message:
"Error: Unable to access license store"
Since this happened so suddenly, I tried several troubleshooting steps to resolve this internal issue, but nothing has worked:
Run as Administrator: Launched the almutil-gui.exe utility directly with full administrator privileges.
Clean Reinstallation: Completely uninstalled Altair HyperWorks from my system, restarted the PC, and performed a clean reinstallation. However, even after a fresh install, the exact same error appears immediately.
It feels like the utility is failing to access or initialize the local internal repository required for activation before it even gives me a chance to input the key.
Since I am right in the middle of using this software and it suddenly became completely unusable, I would highly appreciate your prompt guidance on how to fix this internal license store crash. I have attached a screenshot of the utility error window for your reference.
