Request to Reset HostID for Student Edition License Activation Error

Hello Altair Support Team,

I am trying to activate my Altair 2026 Student Edition software on my laptop using my activation key (L4441-5RNBZ-33Z3Q-Z958N), but I am getting the error: "This license was already activated using different HostIDs."

Because of a system reinstall/network change, my current HostID does not match the server record. When I try to deactivate it using the license utility, I get a "License not found" error because the file was never saved locally.

Could an administrator please reset/deactivate the old HostID linked to my activation key on your servers so I can reactivate it?

Your license key has been deactivated in Altair One, and you can now reactivate your student license using the same key.

Kindly note, The Altair Free Student Edition license is valid for use on only one device, it cannot be shared or activated on multiple machines at the same time AND Deactivation and reactivation feature is only if a computer breaks down or reformatted and is only allowed a few times per user preprogrammed into the system.

You can deactivate the license from one machine and reactivate in another by yourself if you have access to both machines as per –

Hello Altair Support Team,

I am trying to reactivate my Altair 2026 Student Edition license on my laptop using my activation key:

However, I am receiving the following error message:

Previously, the software was activated on the same laptop, but after a system reinstall/network change, the HostID has changed. I am also unable to deactivate the previous license because the local license file is no longer available, and the License Utility shows "License not found."

I kindly request you to reset or deactivate the old HostID linked to my activation key from your server so I can activate the software again on my current system.
