Urgent: Issue with activating an studen edition licence

Hi, I previously used AI Studio in 2024 with a student licence, which expired in 2025. I now need to use it again for my university course, but I’m having an issue activating the student licence.

I have generated a new student licence key and downloaded AI Studio version 2026.0.5 (previously I was using version 2025.0.1). However, both versions appear as the free version.

When I open almutil_gui and enter the licence key under Activation, I receive the following error: “Error activating licence – already exists in licence store.”

Could you please advise how to resolve this issue?

The message license already exists in license store means the activation is already successful,

You could go to the location of the license in the license store, this is the path in the activation tab under the license store field, delete the .lic file there and then reactivate,

If ‘Free’ appears in the AI Studio status bar, it means AI Studio is using the RapidMiner personal edition free license. Please switch to the Altair Student License using this tutorial -
