Apply enforced displacement

Hi !

I work on hypermesh and would like to apply an enforced displacement on a cylinder (for basic static analysis) but I don't know how to make it : should I use SPC node or SPCD node ? I thought to apply the load on a RBE2 independant node but when I run the simulation I have this message :

*** ERROR # 4821 ***
Fixed boundary condition in SPCD 2 is not supported for linear static analysis.

*** Run terminated because of error(s) in the input data.

Hi,

For enforced displacement, both SPC and SPCD will work. you can give the displacement value in the DOF field.

See the below pic where I have entered 5mm displacement in DOF3.

If you are using SPCD, you need to constraint it. Else solver will give error during the run.
