Hi, I’m working with a solid tetrahedral mesh where I need to assign the SOLID187 element type and then export the model to a .cdb file for ANSYS analysis. The issue is that even though I can select SOLID187 in the sensor (element type) panel, there is no corresponding “SOLID187P” property card available. Because of that, I used the Generalp property card and linked it to the SOLID187 element type.
However, when I run the analysis, ANSYS throws errors. To verify, I imported the generated .cdb back into HyperMesh, and I can see that the elements are not correctly assigned as SOLID187—this is shown in the attached image named 187.
For comparison, when I assign SOLID185, HyperMesh provides a direct solid185p property card, and the elements are correctly written as SOLID185 (as shown in the reference image).
I need help with the correct procedure to assign higher‑order elements (SOLID187) in HyperMesh 2025 so that the .cdb exports properly and ANSYS recognizes the elements without errors.
