I plan to use Pbush1d to simulate a rope that is only subjected to compression and not tension. I'm not sure if this is correct. Also, how do I set parameters in Pbush1d
Hi Jin,
You can use PBUSH1D and enter the compression curve in IDT field.
Also you can check on PBUSHT where you can enter the Force vs Deflection curve in KN line. If you have stiffness curve that also can be entered in K field.
Refer the below link for more information.

Attaching a small example file where both PBUSH1D and PBUSHT is being demonstrated.
Thanks

You are correct. You can refer the file I have shared. If you plot the curve the -ve Y values shows compression and +ve part in 1st quadrant is Tension.
Thank you. I have some confusion about the help document. Can I understand it as follows: we define the force and displacement curve of Pbush through a table, with the X-axis representing displacement and the Y-axis representing force; then positive values indicate tension and negative values indicate compression. As long as I change the compression curve to a horizontal line with a Y-value of 0, I can simulate a rope that is only tensioned and not compressed?
