Hi,
I am currently working on the design of a broadband V/UHF wire monopole antenna covering the 30–512 MHz frequency range in Altair FEKO. Although I can model a basic wire monopole structure, the antenna exhibits a narrowband response, and I am looking for methods to increase the operational bandwidth.
Could you please advise on recommended approaches within FEKO to achieve broader bandwidth for a wire-type monopole? In particular, I am interested in:
- Geometry-based bandwidth enhancement techniques
- Adding top-loading structures
- Using inductive or capacitive loading
- Implementing tapered or thickened monopole profiles
- Employing resistive loading for ultra-wideband performance
- Lumped element integration in FEKO (voltage sources, series/parallel RLC loading)
- How to place and optimize lumped components along the wire
- Typical values or strategies used in wideband V/UHF monopoles
- Example FEKO models or reference studies
- Existing FEKO application notes for wideband wire monopoles
- Recommended tutorial models or technical papers demonstrating similar broadband concepts
If you have any sample FEKO files, publications, or design guidelines specifically related to wideband wire monopole structures, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you in advance for your time and support.
Best regards,
