Student License Error: HostID mismatch due to Wi-Fi 7 (MLO) - Request to re-host to Hard Disk ID

Hello,

I am using the Student Edition of PSIM/Altair and I am encountering a recurring licensing error: "License already activated using different HostIDs".

I am using a new laptop equipped with a Wi-Fi 7 network card (Realtek 8922AE). This card uses Multi-Link Operation (MLO), which generates multiple virtual MAC addresses that change dynamically. This instability invalidates my license constantly, even though it is the same machine.

To resolve this permanently, I request to re-host my student license to my Hard Disk Boot ID, which I have verified to be stable.

Please generate the license for the following HostID:

• Target Type: HARDDISK
• Target ID: 0025_38F2_51B3_D529.
• (Description: SAMSUNG MZAL8512HFLU-00BL2)

Attached is a screenshot of the Altair License Utility / XML file confirming this ID.

Hi @gugal

Your previous license key activation is now deactivated in Altair one, you can now reactivate the student license with the same license key.

Deactivation and reactivation feature is only if a computer breaks down or reformatted and is only allowed a few times per user preprogrammed into the system.

You can deactivate the license from one machine and reactivate in another by yourself if you have access to both machines as per –
