How to handle intersection issue in simlab as well as Hypermesh ?

Hi Good Day,

In SimLab, we typically use the Element Intersection tool to detect intersecting elements, remove them, and then rebuild the mesh either manually or using the autofill option.

However, I’m looking for a way to address these intersection issues directly at the CAD/geometry level.

For CFD meshing, Boolean operations such as Combine and Subtract generally resolve these issues effectively. When I attempted the same workflow for structural meshing, I still encountered intersection errors.

What is the recommended approach for handling intersection in SimLab when preparing geometry for structural analysis meshing? Additionally, could you suggest possible methods for resolving similar issues in HyperMesh?

I would either use Boolean tool with Subtract or Break tool wherever you find it more appropriate. Or you can use ADJUST in the contact when there's still interference. If you can share a screenshot of the problem and what is your objective, I can try and give other options. Thank you!
