How to update variables mid-simulation with PSIM when the variable is in parameter file?

Hi,

I am trying to update a value and reflect the change in the simulation on the go. I found a relevant tutorial from Altair (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxWo_kOuZhs). But I want to update a variable in a parameter file pausing the simulation and see the change after running the simulation again. When I parameterized a value in parameter file, the "Update value during simulation" option does not show during running the simulation.

Hi @ashikamineee08. You can leverage save and load flags if you are running from Altair Compose (this is also possible directly using PSIM scripts or using Python, I believe). Have a look here:

This can be done manually as well toggling both flags on and off from the simulation settings.

Thanks for the comment. Is altair compose is available in regular PSIM license?

I am yet to understand the full capability of compose. Do I need to parameterize all the variables?

I am currently changing a single one.

It seems a different tools in altair.

hi @ashikamineee08. Yes, it is a different tool, and you should be able to download it from the Altair marketplace. If you have access to PSIM you also have access to Compose.

You can overwrite only those variables you are interested in.

Thanks for the comment. I tried the part I code and modified for my PSIM simulation.

The .oml file runs fine till it enters the for loop [for i = 1:nL].

On the first execution of the for loop it is giving following error which I am not understanding.

Error: invalid field Values at line number xx in file aaaaaaa.oml

It seems the for loop is not executing the .PSIMSch file.

Any known solutions to this type of problems?
