the plot from result, what is the relation between the resultant and the X,Y,Z

Hello, I am trying to analysis the stress plot and I add all the curves including resultant, X, Y, and Z. I wonder how does the resultant being calculated, it can be calculated from the number of X,Y and Z considering the directions? Can anyone knows this better give me an explanation ?

On your plot, all curves present the evolution of displacements. So the resultant R will be calculated from theses components Rx, Ry and Ry by the following formula:

R = sqrt(Rx*Rx + Ry*Ry + Rz*Rz)
