Modal Analysis of plate with foam material attached to it

I am performing the modal analysis of plate with foam strips attached to it .
The thickness of strip is 1 mm in free condition while 0.6 mm in compressed condition.
I have to observe the first 10 natural frequency of this setup.
How can I model this behavior of foam being compressed by 0.4 mm in modal analysis

Hi Anubhav,

Modal analysis is just to extract the natural frequency and mode shapes.

If you want to see the compression due to external loading, then you need to go for linear static/Non-linear analysis depending on how your structure is. I mean to say if you have contacts or non-linear material in the model, then you can go for NL static analysis, else you can do a linear analysis.
