Plot over line in HyperView / HyperMeshCFD

Hello, Altair community,

I have a question, how a graph can be plotted similarly as in Paraview:

You can seen on the picture the screenshot of paraview post processing:

the pipe with a throttle and its velocity distribution;
the created plot over line.

Now I would like to make the same in the HyperView or Hypergraph.

Dear all,

The solution was found (Thanks to @Marc_21384).

It is in HyperMeshCFD:

Visualize → Slice Plane and then

Post → Plots → Rake.

I also can export it as *.csv

Hi @Vitaliy_Finonchenko,

A combination of an animation and a plot can easily be achieved.

In a HyperView session, simply load an animation.

Next, go to the Set Page Layout button and split the view screen as desired.

Select the new window, then change the application to HyperGraph.

Lastly, load the plot of interest.

Dear Adam,

thanks for you quick response!
I suppose it is not obviously clear, what I mean.

My simulation is CFD and it is steady state.

The line, over that I want to plot the velocity, should be the coordinate along the X axe.

Exactly that is my big issue.

We could make a Teams call, so I could show you on my PC, what I need.

Hi @Vitaliy_Finonchenko,

I understand that a MotionSolve result example is shown, but the process should be nearly identical.

The animation of the CFD simulation will be displayed using HyperView (in place of the UTV shown in the image) and the plot shown in HyperGraph will be from the time-series results file that the CFD simulation produces.

When you are plotting in HyperGraph, you can choose which data to use for the X axis and which to use for the Y axis (shown below).

By default, Time is usually displayed for the X axis.

I am unfortunately not an AcuSolve user, so I am not sure what output files you need to be using for this combination animation and plot in HyperView/HyperGraph.

Perhaps either @Marc_21384, @ydigit, or @acupro can assist?

Hi @Vitaliy_Finonchenko ,

Any specific reason you want to use HV/HG? SimLab or HyperMeshCFD have specialized post processing tools for CFD. In SimLab specifically you can use the XY plot to use existing nodes in your model to plot the curve. Like this:

Dear Marc,

thanks for taking over the support.

With your propose (what ist the same as from your colleague Fabian Ralser) I cannot unfortunately reach my goal. In your propose one chooses the points (nodes) on the surface (moreover it is manual process).

What I need are nodes inside of my fluid domain, because I need to evaluate the velocity of the core - see my first figure (there is a section of the whole model).

I am looking for the solution, that is why I am also trying to use HV/HG. In SimLab I just cannot realize this function.
