Hi,
I was wondering if there is any high frequency DC bus cable model in PSIM? I have found model 3 ph ac cables but not anything for DC bus cable high frequency dc bus shielded cable model.
Any lead will be appreciated.

Dear @ashikamineee08,
As of now, there isn't an explicit DC cable model in PSIM, but one can be easily built. Below is an example that includes a DC cable model using distributed π (pi) networks:
This is just a reference. Defining the distributed parameters of the π network is the user's responsibility and involves work outside the scope of PSIM. Also, please note: including many parasitics in the simulation can provide a more accurate response and help estimate ripple, differential-mode (DM), and common-mode (CM) noise — but it should not be considered a replacement for EMC lab testing.
Thanks for the feedback!
To answer your question:Single pi-circuit
Works reasonably well for short cables or lower-frequency applications where signal delay and distributed effects are minimal.
Multiple pi-segments
Better models the cable as a distributed system, capturing effects like propagation delay, attenuation, and reflections more accurately — especially important in long cables or at higher frequencies. You are looking at cases where the cable is longer than ~1/10 of the wavelength (λ) of the harmonics of interest to use this option. Hope this helps! BR Nikos
It's great. I will study it. Usually, I use a single segment for cable pi model but in the above example simulation multiple segments were provided. Is it to replicate the cable length? Or I always need to use multiple segments for a pi model?
