This article summarizes the updates introduced in Altair Radioss versions 2025 and 2025.1. For complete details, please refer to the attached presentations and the official Altair documentation.
Version 2025.1
Altair Radioss v2025.1 Documentation - What's New
/DAMP/FREQUENCY_RANGE is a new option that defines constant Rayleigh damping over a specified frequency range for sets of shells and solid elements.
/SENSOR/PYTHON is a new sensor using a Python script. The functionality can be triggered with information from nodes, elements, and other sensors.
/INTER/TYPE2 introduces a new option for surface-to-surface treatment of tie contact.
/H3D/SPH/NEIGHBOURS provides a new output to display the number of neighbours for SPH elements with /PROP/TYPE34 (SPH)
/EOS/COMPACTION2 is a new equation of state, where a user-function is used instead of the polynomial expression (/EOS/COMPACTION).
Version 2025
Altair Radioss v2025 Documentation - What's New
/MAT/LAW169 introduces a new adhesive material that accounts for both cohesive behavior and progressive damage, specifically designed for materials that exhibit a combined elasto-plastic and brittle failure characteristics.
Icontrol provides a new element distortion control and internal contact to prevent negative volume in solid elements. The option is available for /PROP/SOLID, /PROP/SOL_ORTH, and /DEF_SOLID.
/FUNCT_PYTHON introduces a new capability that allows Python scripts to be defined and used directly as functions in Radioss.
/STATE/SPHCEL/FULL and /INISPHCEL/FULL now allow the initialization of the stress state for Smooth Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH)
/DFS/DETPOINT/SET is a new option to define detonation points applied to a set of nodes.
