Differences between Open Radioss and Student Mechanical Solver

Hello,

I try to simulate 3 point bending test of FMLs. I have a problem that:

Using student Mechnical solver: the outer Aluminum layer fail from the beginning.

Using Open Radioss: failure does not occur at the beginning.

I my opinion the results from Open Radioss is more resonable.

Could you please help me explain this difference? Tks

Hi Pohan,

Both the Radioss and Open Radioss are the same. You could share both (Radioss and open Radioss) the out files which you ran it helps to check in detail.

Hi Pohan,

Since the out files does not give more information, could you share the input file?

The major difference between Radioss and Open Radioss is as below:

Radioss build is completely tested and released, whereas Open Radios is not tested.

Licensed Radioss will get complete support with training from expets team.
