I would like to write a script which retrieves the material set in the model tree for each body in the Model. Is there a way to do it?
e.g. I would like to write a script which returns Material as 'Polymer_2' for the selected body

There's no function available for this yet. You can use this script to obtain xml file with the desired properties.
