I have a step-file of a simple cuboid. Within it, there's the CLOSED_SHELL parameter (Entry #16) referencing the six faces that make up the cuboid. I expected Hypermesh to assign Surface IDs based on the order these faces appear in the step-file, but this doesn't seem to be the case. The two smaller square ends of the cuboid are the last two entries in the step file, but they get assigned the IDs 2 and 4. Are there any resources on how Hypermesh handles the process of assigning the various ID numbers to imported geometry files?
